Margaret (Marge) Edna (nee Adams, Jordan) Beltrame

BELTRAME, CA – Margaret (Marge) Edna (nee Adams, Jordan) Beltrame, Murrieta, CA, formally from Manhattan Beach, CA, Milwaukee, WI, Dallas, TX and Republic, MI) was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She left this world on July 25, 2023 after an extended illness lasting several months, at age 82.

She was born in Negaunee, MI, to John and Edna (nee Johnson) Adams on January 21, 1941, where she and her older brother, sister and parents lived in a one room log cabin at Chief Lake Resort outside of Republic, MI.

Marge graduated from Republic High School in 1958 and attended Kendall College in Evanston, IL followed by Albion College, Albion, MI where she met Jan (Jay) Eric Jordan. They were married on June 5, 1960, in Republic, MI and moved to Dallas, TX, where their daughter, Sylvia, was born. Marge and Jay subsequently divorced in 1965.

Marge moved to Milwaukee, WI in the summer of 1965. She enjoyed helping others and was a natural leader. She became the Recreational Director of Activities for a number of nursing homes for disabled adults in and around the Milwaukee area for 6 years.

In the summer of 1970, Marge reunited with a student teacher she met in High School, Dennis Beltrame. They married on April 17, 1971, at the Wayfarer’s Chapel in Portuguese Bend, CA, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. They made their home in Manhattan Beach, CA and had three sons, Randy, Barry, and Larry.

Marge was very active in Scouting for all her children. She was a Girl Scout Leader for 6 years and a Cub and Boy Scout Leader for 20 years in the Los Angeles Councils. She received the highest adult awards for her leadership: Adventure District Boy Scout Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver Award Adult Leadership. Crowning these achievements was her youngest son’s Larry receiving the top honor of Eagle Scout.

Marge and Dennis loved to travel and made numerous trips to Michigan, Wisconsin, Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Sydney, Auckland, Bali, Bangkok, Singapore and several countries in Europe.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edna, her brother, Jack Adams.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Dennis Beltrame, sister, daughter, three sons, 19 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA, as her husband, Dennis, is an Air Force Veteran.
