Lynn Solomon
SUOMI LOCATION, MI – Lynn Frances Solomon, 72, of Suomi, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, July 25, 2023, at UP Health System – Bell with her loving family by her side.
Lynn was born June 13, 1951 in Marquette, to Jim and Fran (Edwards) Johnson, graduated from Ishpeming High School, Class of 1969, and was a lifelong area resident. She married Jim Solomon on December 2, 1970, and together they raised their family in Suomi. Lynn worked at Tall Timbers Grocery Store, and also Norlite Nursing Center as a CNA for several years. Her greatest work was done as a loving and devoted homemaker to her family. She provided exceptional daycare for all of her grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Solomon was a former member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Palmer where she taught CCD, and was also a former member of the Superior Hog Chapter, where she was very active behind the scenes. In her spare time, she loved crocheting and cross-stitch, calligraphy, and ceramics. Lynn and Jim enjoyed camping and traveling on their motorcycle, with nearly 300,000 miles behind them. Above all, she loved being with her beloved family, including family camping trips, hosting the Christmas Eve celebration, and most importantly Sunday dinners with the whole family.
Surviving are her loving husband of 52 years, Jim Solomon; her daughters, Shari (John) Silverstone of Suomi and Dani (Jason) Solomon-Lundwall of Ishpeming; seven grandchildren: Heidi (Tom Wu) and Melodi Silverstone, Keelia, Colton and Kylar Solomon-Lundwall, Harmoni Silverstone, and Cliona Solomon-Lundwall; her siblings: Steve (Dona) Johnson, Barb (Ron) Eheman, and Mark (Anita) Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 Noon, on Monday, July 31st at Koskey Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Van Damme officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 AM until the start of services at Noon at the funeral home on Monday, and also at a luncheon immediately following services in the St. Paul School gymnasium.
