Corina Porres

Corina was born July 27, 1998 in Marquette to Julio and Rebecca (Turovaara) Porres, and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 2016. She loved her current employment with UP Health System-Marquette /R1, in the emergency department. She often commented about having incredible co-workers. Her first employment with the Negaunee Senior Center had also always been one of her favorite and memorable positions, and she also enjoyed her previous time at Ralph’s Deli and Togos.

Corina had a passion and talent with art and music. She was a member of the Negaunee Orchestra and robotics team in high school. She played the viola in high school, but had the ability to beautifully master nearly any instrument that she touched. Corina loved spending time with her children and treated friends like family. She enjoyed hiking, kayaking, and animals. She was a generous, caring, and brilliant woman.

Surviving are her parents, Julio and Rebecca Porres of Negaunee; her cherished children, Milo and Emilia McMinn, and their father, Harrison McMinn; her brothers, Julian and Benjamin Porres; sisters, Angelina (Gavin Manninen) Porres and Lila Porres; her paternal grandmother, Aurora Franco; maternal grandparents, Cindy (Russ Turovaara) Rajaniemi and Rick (Patricia) Tapani; special aunt, Kelly (Matt) Tapani Fiocchi; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were dear to her.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Roberto Porres; and her adored great-grandparents; Evelyn and Ed Rajaniemi, and “Grandma Vi” who were incredibly special to her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
