Carl Harry Johnson

Carl was born February 23, 1927 in Skandia to Frank and Elizabeth (Westberg) Johnson and graduated from Graveraet High School, Class of 1943. He then enlisted in the United States Navy, serving at the end of World War II and during the Korean Conflict. Following his military service, Carl returned to Negaunee and worked for Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company and then at the Marquette Branch Prison. He retired from Corrections in 1987 after 27 years of service. Upon retirement, he enjoyed many summers at his Sand Lake home and winters in Panama City Beach, Florida.

Surviving are his son, David (Karen) of Marquette; daughter, Linda (Scott) Naughton of Phoenix; step-daughter, Linda (Steve) Taylor of Scottsdale, AZ; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Gunnar and Frank, his first wife, Delores D’Angelo, and his second wife, Helen Roberts.
