Amy Alyssa Harju
MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI – Amy Alyssa Harju, age 50, of Marquette Township, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023, at home, in the loving care of her family.
Amy was born August 4, 1972, in Marquette, and graduated from Marquette Senior High School in 1990. She continued her education at Northern Michigan University and following graduation, began an over 20 year career in the IT Department as a project manager with Marquette General Hospital and concluding her career at UP Health System-Marquette.
While employed at the hospital, she implemented the annual Run for Life. Amy loved dogs, especially labs and her own dogs; and enjoyed working out at the gym with her friends.
Amy is survived by her husband of 25 years, Andy; her brother, Carl (Michele) Black of Francis Creek, WI; and her niece, Madelyn Black with whom she was very close.
Friends may call at Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral and Cremation Services on Monday, July 17, beginning at 2:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm.
Following the funeral services, there will be a celebration of Amy’s life at the Presque Isle Pavilion from 4:30 pm until 7:30 pm for guests to share stories and smiles while enjoying appetizers and beverages.
