NEGAUNEE, MI – Thomas I. Guidebeck, Jr., 89, of Negaunee, entered eternal life early Sunday morning, June 25, 2023 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility.

Tom was born July 29, 1933 in Negaunee to Thomas and Elizabeth (Young) Guidebeck, Sr., and graduated from Negaunee St. Paul High School, Class of 1952. Upon graduating, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving as an aircraft mechanic during the Korean War. Following his service to his country, he continued employment with the Air Force, working as a mechanic at KI Sawyer AFB for nearly 30 years.

Mr. Guidebeck was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Negaunee and the Pontiac-Oakland Club International. He was the proud owner of a 1960 Pontiac Bonneville convertible and also enjoyed collecting model cars.

Surviving are his loving wife, Sharon (Stephens) Guidebeck; two sons, Gregory (Laurie) Guidebeck of Ishpeming and Jim (Laurie) Guidebeck of Michigamme; his two daughters, Patricia (Joe) Thomas of Ishpeming and Cynthia (Michael Jensen) Weissmann of McFarland, Wisconsin; his grandchildren: Carissa, Justin, Ian, Daniel, Cory, Courtney, Thomas, Amanda, Derek, Joey, Amber, Justice, Erica and Jordan; along with several beloved great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 29th at St. Paul Catholic Church, Negaunee, with Rev. Larry Van Damme officiating. Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends for one hour prior to Mass at the church on Thursday, and also at a luncheon immediately following services in the St. Paul School gymnasium.
