Clarice Ghiardi

Clarice was born August 10, 1954, in Negaunee, a daughter of James and Josephine (Pezzotti) Maino.

She was raised in Negaunee, where she graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1972 and following graduation she started her banking career at the First National Bank of Negaunee. Throughout her banking career she worked for numerous other local area banks ultimately retiring as Vice President of Operations with over 40 years in the banking industry. On July 26, 1991 Clare married Martin Ghiardi and the couple set about establishing a home and raising a family in the Gwinn area.

In her spare time she loved going to camp and enjoying summertime pontoon boat rides, making campfires and wintering in Florida with her husband Martin. Most of all she cherished the time spent with her family, friends and co-workers and was a person who would do anything to help those she loved and knew.

Clarice is survived by her husband, Martin Ghiardi of Gwinn; her four children, Jason Ghiardi of Marquette, Kurt (Yubi) Ghiardi of Littleton, CO, Martina (Mark Philips) Ghiardi, Clarkston, MI and Luke (Vanessa Briones) Ghiardi of West Ishpeming; two grandchildren, Giovanna Ghiardi of Marquette and Hunter Ghiardi of Littleton, CO; her three brothers, Jim Maino of Tucson, AZ, Joe (Jeannie) Maino of Negaunee and John (Julie) Maino of Manitowoc, WI; her two sisters, Bev Denofre of Milwaukee, WI and Rosemary (Terry) Sayen of Suamico, WI, many nieces nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Clarice was preceded in death by her first husband, Don Maki; and her brother Paul Maino.

Friends may call at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gwinn on Wednesday, May 24, beginning at 11:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm.
