MARQUETTE, MI – Kathleen A. Deasy, 79, of Marquette, and formerly of Green Bay, WI, passed away Tuesday morning, April 18th, 2023, at Trillium House surrounded by her loving family and under the care of UP Home Health & Hospice.

Kathleen was born on April 12th, 1944, in Marquette, to the late James and Mary (Gorst) Deasy. She was a 1962 graduate of Bishop Baraga High School and attended Northern Michigan University.

Kathleen worked for a number of years for Michigan Bell in Marquette, before moving to Reno, NV, and then to Green Bay, to work for Humana Insurance in clerical. She was an avid reader and enjoyed plants and gardening.

Kathleen is survived by her two daughters, Sarah (Scott Smith) Libick-Smith of Marquette and Diana (Stokely) Gittens of Orlando, FL; two grandchildren, Phoenix Gittens and Stokely Gittens, Jr. of Orlando; nieces, Kathy (Jeff) Kinder and Beth (Matt Badzik) John and nephew, Andrew (Tara) John.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Trisha John and her infant newborn daughter, who was born and passed on the same day, Jane Libick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday May 4th, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Peter Cathedral with Rev. Msgr. Michael Steber officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the mass. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will follow the interment at the Presque Isle Pavilion from 2 until 4:00 p.m.
