June E. Almli

She was born on February 9th, 1949, in Hancock, a daughter of the late Felix and Lea (Riikonen) Kemppainen. June was raised in the Baraga area and was a graduate of the Baraga High School.

Following High School June resided in Hancock and L’Anse, before moving to make her home in Ishpeming for over 40 years.

Mrs. Almli had worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Bell Memorial Hospital, Woodland Assisted Living in Ishpeming, MCMCF (Valente) and UP Home Health & Hospice.

She was a former member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Ishpeming. June enjoyed having a cup of coffee and visiting with family and friends.

Surviving are her children: Darren (Susan) Almli of Maricopa, AZ, Travis Almli of L’Anse, MI, and Troy Almli of Grand Rapids, MI; her grandchildren: Danielle (Casey) Koetter, Krista Almli, Brianna Rose and Toni Rose; her great-grandchildren: Noah and Liam; her brother: Jack (Jill) Kemppainen of South Range; her former husband: Thomas Almli of L’Anse, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service for June will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 1st, 2023, at the Mt. View Cemetery of South Range with Pastor TJ Stauffer to officiate.
