Carolyn (Holland) Zintman
Carolyn Zintman
HANCOCK, MI – Carolyn (Holland) Zintman, age 82, passed away on March 30th, 2023, at 1:13pm.
Carolyn was born in Hancock, MI, on December 14th, 1940, the daughter of Fred (Monk) and Mary Verville. She grew up in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan, attended Hancock Central High and graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing.
Carolyn worked as a Registered Nurse at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor and at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She also worked as a home health nurse for U.P Home Nursing for 10 years.
Finally, she ended her career as an admissions nurse for Mather Nursing Center before retiring in 1999.
Carolyn married, Ron Holland, at St. Joseph Hospital in Hancock in 1964, who predeceased her in 1988. They had three children together: Glen Holland (Sue Nass) of Campbellsport, WI; Laura Axeen (Paul) and Jennifer Sorenson (Keith) both of Bloomington, MN.
Also surviving are 4 grandchildren: Jenna and Ana Sorenson, Kaylee and Nicholas Axeen and her brother, Jim Verville, of Traverse City, MI.
In 1998, Carolyn married Daniel Zintman, in Marquette, MI, at St. Peter Cathedral. Since that time, they have resided part time in Marquette and part time in Jensen Beach, FL.
Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, her brother; Ronald Verville, of Sioux Falls, SD and her first husband; Ron Holland of Marquette, MI.
Carolyn enjoyed golf, aerobics, Zumba, crossword puzzles and card games on her phone and computer. Some of her favorite times were working out with the “aerobics girls” and having coffee afterwards.
Carolyn was raised in and practiced the Catholic faith for her entire life. She was a firm believer in the Lord. Per her children, she was the most loving, gentle, and understanding mother anyone could ask for.
We valued her love, laughter, and her advice. She will be missed but we know she is now in the hands of the Lord.
Carolyn has requested that there be no formal service.
