Carol Erickson

GWINN, MI – Carol Erickson, 65, of Gwinn, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family and under the care of U.P. Home Health & Hospice.

She was born December 12th, 1957, in Ishpeming, Michigan, a daughter of Edward C., Jr. and Edna (Pelkie) Roberts. She was a 1976 graduate of Gwinn High School and earned a certificate in medical transcription from NMU. She was a lifelong area resident.

Carol married Dale “Duke” Erickson on September 13th, 1975, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gwinn.

She was employed for 10 years with the Forsyth Township EMS, at Marquette General Hospital as a medical transcriptionist and at Dr. Breit’s dental office as a secretary.

Carol taught exercise class for years and enjoyed water skiing, horses, camping, and trips to Florida.

She is survived by her husband, Dale “Duke” Erickson of Gwinn; children, Jaime (Tobe) Lunsford of Calhoun, GA, Chris Erickson of Gwinn, Joe Erickson of Gwinn, and Rena Erickson of Gwinn; mother, Edna Roberts of Gwinn; grandchildren, Jordan Hornung, Tristan and Sophie Mullins, Anthony Bodenus, Alliyah Erickson, Edward Erickson, Austin Larson, Jocelyn Erickson and Jack Lyke; great-grandchildren, Spencer and Oliver Bodenus; siblings, Gary (Cindy) Roberts of Gwinn, Don (Bobby Brown) Roberts of Marquette, Ken (Tami) Roberts of Gwinn, Marlene (Mike) Griffore of Green Bay, WI; father-in-law, Paul Erickson of Gwinn; and numerous nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Roberts and mother-in-law, Geraldine Erickson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 13th, 2023, from 1 to 3 pm, at Grace Lutheran Church in Gwinn. A funeral service will be held at 3 pm in the church, with Rev. Jack Busche and Pastor Steve Solberg officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the ALS Association.
