MARQUETTE, MI – Mary F. Noble, 59, of Marquette, passed away on Sunday morning, March 19th, 2023, surrounded by her family at U.P. Health System- Marquette.
Mary was born on May 31st, 1963, in Traunik, MI, to Frank M. and Edwina P. (Allie) Knaus. She was a 1981 graduate of Eben High School where she played forward for The Eagles and helped bring the team to victory in districts for much of her basketball career.
Mary took pride in raising her four children at home, then later worked as a Pre-school aide at Cherry Creek Elementary School and at Marquette General Hospital in housekeeping and as an O.R. aide.
Her coworkers often described her as a wonderful woman with a great sense of humor who would light up any room with her infectious laughter.
Mary was a life long lover of any thing sweet, especially chocolate. She could often be found enjoying her time thrift store shopping, going for long walks, socializing with her friends and family, and spending every spare minute with her best friend; her dog Gizzy. She loved music of all kinds and passed that love to her children. Mary hosted family get-togethers during the holiday seasons for many years. She enjoyed the company and created wonderful memories for all. Mary was very supportive of her kids with all of their extracurricular activities and adored spending time with them all. She loved being around her three grandchildren, spoiling them with treats, her sense of play, and reading them their favorite stories. She was so proud to be a grandma.
Mary is survived by her four children, Lauren (Dustin) Slack, Lindsey (Robert Crawford) Noble, Michael Noble and Megan (Tim Tellefsen) Noble, all of Gwinn; three beloved grandchildren, Owen, Nova and Marco Slack; four siblings, Linda Knaus of Marquette, Sharilyn Knaus and Mark (Joyce) Knaus, of Traunik, MI and Robert Knaus of Utah; niece, Lisa Gaines; nephews, Eric, Travis and Aaron Knaus; and her faithful dog, Gizzy.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Edwina Knaus.
A celebration of life for Mary will be held in the summer of 2023 and will be announced.
