Albert Walter Piasecki

MARQUETTE, MI – Albert Walter Piasecki, 98, of Marquette, passed away Tuesday, March 14th, 2023, at Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee.

Albert was born on April 18th, 1924, in Marquette, to the late Andrew and Agnes (Nowaczyk) Piasecki. He was a graduate of Bishop Baraga High School.

Albert served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was an active member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Albert worked for the Lake Superior and Ishpeming Railroad.

Albert is survived by his four children, John (Judy) Piasecki of Lansing, MI, Patricia (Tim) Beauchamp of Sedalia, CO, Jean Piasecki of Carrollton, TX and Mary (Eric) Sherk of Raleigh, NC; and five grandchildren, Lynn (Brant) Price, Katie Beauchamp, Jason (Carlyn) Piasecki, Andrew (Katherine) Sherk and Peter Sherk.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary B. Piasecki, on March 12th, 1998 and grandson, Michael Piasecki.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 24th, 2023, at 11 a.m., at St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. Gregory Heikkala officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 2119 Presque Isle Ave., Marquette, MI 49855.
