GWINN, MI – Laura Jean Jacobson, age 62, of Gwinn, passed away in the early hours on Sunday, February 12th, 2023, in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her loving family and her loyal labs.

Laura was born on January 17th, 1961, in Marquette, to Richard and Marie Dahlstrom.

She was a graduate of Marquette Senior High School and went on and obtained her nursing degree from Bay de Noc Community College. After 25 years, Laura decided to further her education obtaining her BSN from UWGB, where she graduated Cum Laude and earning her doctorate degree in nursing from NMU, something she was so very proud of and rightfully so!

Laura was a registered nurse at Marquette General Hospital for 33 years, retiring in 2021.

Laura was all things fabulous! Never leaving the house without rhinestones incorporated somewhere on her outfit, and, if on that rare occasion she forgot her “bling” she was sure to brighten up any room with her infectious smile.

Laura truly had a zest for life and was always looking for her next adventure. She loved to travel and loved when she reached platinum cruiser status!

Laura was a lover of many things but most of all she loved her grandchildren, being a glamma was her greatest joy in life. Laura married, Danny Jacobson, on December 29th, 1984, in Gwinn.

Laura is survived by her husband, Danny of Gwinn; children and grandchildren, Richard (Kaycee) Jacobson, Alexis and Tyler Jacobson, JoAnna, Kathryn and Gabi Langston of Marquette, MI; Caitlin Barrett and Dani Barrett of Bremerton, WA; her sister, Julie (Terry) Govern of Florida; son-in-law, Robert Barrett; father-in-law, Marvin (Maxine) Jacobson; brother-in-law, Doug (Adele) Jacobson; sisters-in-law, Debi (Jim) Pfluger, Diane (Pat) Christenson, Donna (Rob) Brandt; very special aunt, Diane Tonella; her granddaughter by choice, Madison Quello; numerous nieces and nephews and her ever true loyal labs, Gunner and Thor.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Susan Hatfield; her mother-in-law, Betty Jacobson and her dogs, Duke and Jake.

In accordance with Laura’s wishes there will be no funeral services at this time and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
