Howard Tim Ansell

He was born August 1st, 1952, in Galesburg, Illinois, to Howard and Joyce (Skiles) Ansell. He married Janice Trudell in 1989. Tim worked for the State of Michigan, Department of Corrections, from 1981 until retiring in 2006, as the assistant deputy warden. He was a Mason and a member of the American Legion. Tim enjoyed camping, Harley riding, fishing, hunting, woodworking, and most recently enjoyed flying his drone and e-bike riding. He also enjoyed spending time with Skiles (the Pug) and grand dog Chief.

Surviving are his wife; Janice Ansell of L’Anse, son; Cason (Jenn) Ansell of Keweenaw Bay; sisters/brothers and in-laws; Deb and Ralph Johnston of Peshtigo, WI, Shawn and Todd Johnson of Cooks, MI, Jack and Linda Ansell of Fayette, MI, Jill and Bob Weber of Manistique, MI, Denice and Steven Merrick of Beaufort, SC, Richard and Brenda Trudell of Ishpeming, special friends; Bill and Jeanette Gray of Washington, Laura and Jason Hopper of Alaska, Jess and Nathan Coston of Washington, Beth and Jack Smith of L’Anse, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends who have brought much love and happiness to Tim’s life.

Preceding him in death are his parents; Howard and Joyce Ansell, parents-in-law; Louis and Carol Trudell and nephew; Corey Martin.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 7th, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Jacobson Funeral Home. The Baraga County Area Veterans will conduct military rites at 12:00 p.m., followed by a brief service. Per Tim’s request for those attending, casual attire is preferred.
