Roberta G. “Birdie” Frisk

MICHIGAMME, MI – Roberta G. “Birdie” Frisk, age 91, of 108 E. Lake St., Michigamme, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25th, 2022, at her home.

Roberta was born in Imperial Heights on April 7th, 1931, a daughter of the late Violet (Perry) and Robert Lawrence. She grew up in Imperial Heights and was a graduate of the Michigamme High School, Class of 1948. In 1951, she married the love of her life, Calvin Frisk and together they raised five sons in Michigamme. Birdie was first a mother and homemaker but worked for many years as secretary for the family business – Frisk Oil.

Birdie truly loved Michigamme and had been an active member of the Michigamme Community, serving on the Fourth of July Committee and was a supporter of the Michigamme Museum. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Birdie and Cal enjoyed spending some of their retirement winters in Donna, TX.

Survivors include two sons – Dennis (Penny) Frisk of Champion, Tim (Pam) Frisk of Champion, 3 daughters-in-law – Mary Clare Frisk, Kathleen Frisk and Sue Frisk, 10 grandchildren – Deanna (Matt) LaCosse, Cory (Nicki) Frisk, Debbi (Marc) Marizzaldi, Derek (Lisa) Frisk, Kara (Marcin) Szember, Matt (Becky) Frisk, Whitney (James) Saunders, Robert (Abbi) Frisk, Marisa (Danny) Frisk, Justin Frisk, 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and her lifelong friend – Jean Howe.

She was preceded in death by her husband – Cal Frisk in 2010, 3 sons – Kelly, Larry and Barry Frisk; stepgrandson – B.J. Senske and sister – Anna Mae Best.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00am – 1:00pm, on Wednesday November 30th, 2022, at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Champion. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm with the Rev. Paul Peterson to officiate. Interment will take place at the Lakeview Cemetery in Michigamme. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. A luncheon will follow the services at the church.
