Rev. Douglas Arthur McNeil
MARQUETTE, MI – Reverend Douglas Arthur McNeil, age 89, of Marquette, Michigan, passed away on Saturday evening, August 6th, 2022, at Norlite Nursing Center.
He was born on January 28th, 1933, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Harold and Leota McNeil. Douglas graduated from Ishpeming High School and later graduated from seminary in Grand Rapids. He met Jeanette Lorraine Johnson in 1951 and they were married on August 15th, 1953. Douglas pastored for a time at the Baptist church in Bergland while also serving as an Accountant for White Pine Copper Company. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Fremont, Michigan.
Douglas is survived by his children: Sheryl (John) Lawrence, James McNeil, Tim (Betty) McNeil, Doug (Maria) McNeil, Les (Melinda) McNeil; 18 grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren, 2 great-great- grandchildren; 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Douglas was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette McNeil, his son, Wesley McNeil, and by 1 grandchild.
There will be no visitation or service. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Bergland, Michigan on Saturday, August 13th, 2022, at 11:00 am.
