Jessica Lynn (Robinson) Chambers
LANSING, MI – Jessica Lynn (Robinson) Chambers, age 35, passed away on Monday, July 25th, 2022, at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, after a lengthy physical illness that was aided by addiction and mental health issues.
Jessica was born in Ishpeming, Michigan, on July 23rd, 1987, to Cindy Pate and Dale Robinson.
Jessica attended Westwood High School where she participated in tennis, diving, basketball, and track. She graduated in 2005 and attended Northern Michigan University.
Jessica loved her family, especially her children. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, listening to music, writing poetry, dirt bike riding, swimming, and shopping. Jessica was witty, beautiful, intelligent, loved to laugh, and loved to push the boundaries set before her.
However, above everything, even herself, was Jessica’s addiction. She found moments of relief in the drugs that provided her an escape from reality. At an early age, Jessica was diagnosed with depression and anxiety, and later, borderline personality disorder. She struggled through multiple suicide attempts, hospitalizations, jail sentences, drug rehabilitation, and periods of sobriety. Jessica’s strength to wake up every day, and persevere through the darkness, shows the tremendous love that she had for those around her. Addiction is not a solo disease, as those left impacted are many. We can say, without a doubt, that she was loved. Jess is finally at peace.
Jessica is survived by her husband, Austin Chambers; four children: Cadence Johnson, Mason Wickingson, Chance Chambers, and Chace Chambers; father, Dale Robinson; mother, Cindy Pate; stepmother Tracy (Gary) Ordiway; siblings: Kenneth (Tracey) Pate, Michael Milano, Heather (Greg) Vedder, Joshua Robinson, Chelsey (Michael) Wunder, and Corey Robinson; grandmothers Marian Pate and Ulla Carlson; along with numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jessica was preceded in death by an infant son, Challenge Chambers; maternal grandparents Eleanor and William Robinson; paternal grandfather, Edward Pate; and grandfather, Richard Carlson.
Jessica’s family will greet relatives and friends from 10:30 a.m.-Noon, on Friday, August 12th, 2022, at Mission Covenant Church in Ishpeming, Michigan. Pastor Terry Cathcart will officiate Jessica’s funeral service at noon. A luncheon will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
