Beth Marie Marker

MARQUETTE, MI – Beth Marie Marker, age 77, of Marquette, entered eternal life Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022, at Brookridge Heights Assisted Living Facility, in the loving, comforting care of her family.

Born May 8th, 1945, in Walled Lake, Michigan, a daughter of Norman and Ruth (Brown) Neiman, Beth was raised in Walled Lake and graduated from Walled Lake High School, Class of 1963. She moved to Marquette to pursue a degree in social work at Northern Michigan University. While at NMU, Beth met Curtis Marker, a talented NMU football player. Following their graduations, the couple was united in marriage on June 17th, 1967, in Walled Lake. Together, the couple made their first home in Dallas, Texas, where Curt had been drafted by the Dallas Cowboys. He played for the Cowboys for two years and upon being released, the couple moved back to Marquette and began raising their family. When the kids were old enough, Beth started working as a teller in the bank where she continued working for over 25 years, until her retirement.

While working she also served as part time bookkeper for the Gospel Opportunities radio station which Curt was managing. Beth and Curt were both very family oriented and enjoyed spending summers at the family cabin in northern Minnesota, fishing, and especially spending time with the grandchildren. Many family memories were created with the many fun things the couple came up with to entertain the children.

Beth was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Marquette and also attended Calvary Baptist Church in Negaunee. Additionally, she served on the Board of Directors of Gospel Opportunities, Inc.

Beth is survived by her children, Craig (Kelly) Marker of Marquette, Michelle (Christopher) Bouldrey of Jackson, and Jeff (Jamie) Marker of Negaunee; her grandchildren, Heather Marker, Curtis Marker, Jaime Bouldrey, Jacob Bouldrey, Emily Marker, Megan Marker, Aubrey Palmer, and Morgan Palmer.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Curt.
