Helene Claire Reynolds

MARQUETTE, MI – Helene Claire Reynolds, age 86, of Marquette, passed away Sunday, July 24th, 2022, at Mission Point of Ishpeming.

Helene was born January 23rd, 1936, in Marquette, a daughter of George and Agnes (Paquette) Gregorich. She loved growing up in a large Marquette family, sharing many adventures with her brothers and sisters. She graduated from Bishop Baraga High School, Class of 1954, and right away began what would become a long working career. Her career began with employment at Vollworths, where she worked as an office administrator. Later, in 1976, Helene began employment with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, as an account representative in the Marquette office, retiring in 1996 following 20 years of service. Helene possessed an outgoing, engaging, and humorous personality and enjoyed interacting with people. In retirement she started working for Cal’s Party Store. There, she could visit with old friends and stay active. Helene was able to balance her career with raising two sons basically on her own. She was a strong willed, independant woman, who kept the boys in line, giving them lots of love along the way. They had a great upbringing and Helene was always very supportive. As the boys got older, married, and had grandchildren, life became much sweeter. She was delighted when the first grandchild, a girl, came along and she had the daughter she never had. She enjoyed going on vacations with her family and especially loved the grandkids. In her leisure moments, Helene enjoyed sewing, cross stitch, crocheting, painting, making dolls, and lending a helping hand when needed. She loved Elvis Presley and Don Williams music, she also enjoyed watching Judge Judy and any other “judge” shows that were on TV.

Helene is survived by her sons, Willard (Anne Marie) Reynolds and Michael Reynolds; her grandchildren, Krystal, Taran, and Andrew; brothers, Joseph (Judith) Gregorich, Ernest (Judith) Gregorich, Andrew Gregorich, Thomas (Marie) Gregorich; sisters, Joan (Cal) Zorza, Judith (Charles) Sherbinow, Nancy (Richard) Malvasio, Sara Gregorich, and Mary (Marvin) Mahaffey and 49 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George Gregorich, John “Jack” Gregorich, Michael Gregorich; sisters, Marie Forton and Gretchen Thompson and two nieces and nephews.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Saturday, July 30th, beginning at 10:00 am, until the time of service at 11:30 am.
