Nancy Carole (Tyner) McDonald

MUNISING, MI – Nancy Carole (Tyner) McDonald, age 83, of Munising, died peacefully at UP Health Systems – Marquette, on Wednesday, May 4th, 2022, after being hospitalized for long term health problems.

She was born on May 7th, 1938, in Munising, to the late Stanley and Marie (Hupala) Tyner. Nancy graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1956. She worked at Kimberly Clark in the office, until she married, Gordon McDonald, in 1962. While Gordon served in the U.S. Coast Guard, they lived in Portage, Seul Choix Pointe, and Sault Ste. Marie. They moved back to Munising in 1964, where the spent over fifty-three years together and raised their three children. Nancy enjoyed rides around the UP with Gordon, having coffee at the Dogpatch, going to rummage sales and thrift stores, watching home and garden shows, decorating for the holidays, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children – Gregg McDonald of Munising, Jill (Jeff) Santti of Marquette, and Lynn (Dennis Barron) McDonald of Munising; five grandchildren – Amy Ott, Jennifer McDonald, Cynthia Foster, Leah Rajala, and Nathan Santti; six great-grandchildren; sister Judy (Ted) Betz of Galesburg, MI, and brother – Donald Tyner of Wetmore.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband – Gordon; parents – Stanley and Marie Tyner; and sister – Barbara Perry.
