Warren “Bruce” Belisle
MARQUETTE, MI – Warren “Bruce” Belisle, 74, of Marquette, passed away on Monday evening, April 11th, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family and under the care of U.P. Home Health & Hospice.
Bruce was born on March 10th, 1948, in Marquette, the only child of the late Vincent and Margaret (McPherson) Belisle and was a lifelong Marquette resident.
Bruce graduated from Marquette Senior High School in 1966 and then attended NMU for a time. He was employed by Frei Chevrolet from 1965 through 1975, leaving as Assistant Service Manager. He started working at the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department from 1975 to 2000, retiring as lieutenant of the road patrol. He then worked as a U.S. Marshall eventually becoming Court Security Officer at the Federal Court House in Marquette, a position he held for 20 years.
During his free time, Bruce was a Little League and Junior Hockey coach. He volunteered for the Sands Township Fire Department and was also a former constable for Sands Township. He enjoyed playing senior pick-up hockey and also helped coordinate that program.
Bruce immensely enjoyed rejuvenating at his special place on Spruce Lake in Canada, affectionately referred to as “The Camp.” He also enjoyed constructing Adirondack chairs and swings for friends, as well as, feeding the deer, birds and other wildlife that visited his back yard.
Bruce helped organize the first annual Pigs-N-Heat Fire Relief Fund Hockey game, which began in 1983 and played in many of those games.
Survivors include his wife, the former Patricia Beaudry; one daughter, Amy Jo (Chad) Brooks of Ishpeming; a granddaughter, Kaylee Logan Tourtillott of Ishpeming and Maggie, Bruce’s own Toto as well as numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
At Bruce’s request, there will be no funeral service held at this time.
