Sandra Jo Bouchard

Born July 15th, 1958, in Ishpeming, a daughter of Harlan and Joanne (Champion) Erickson, Sandra was raised in Ishpeming and graduated from the Negaunee High School. She enrolled at Northern Michigan University for a time before beginning a long career as a cook. Her career began with employment at several area restaurants and continued in the Food Service Department at Northern Michigan University, from where she retired. Sandra was an active bowler and it was while enjoying the sport that she met her future husband, Kevin. Family was all important to Sandra, especially the children, and she enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, and spending time with them at the family camp on Shag Lake. She and Kevin also spent years camping at the Gladstone campground with occasional visits from family and friends. When the grandkids began arriving, life for Sandra got even sweeter.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Kevin; her three children, Kyle (Anna) Hakala of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Andy (Laela) Hakala of Ishpeming, and Brieanna Bouchard of Gwinn; her grandchildren, Matthew and Mitchell Hakala of Thunder Bay, Ontario, and Zeek Hakala of Ishpeming and her brother, Ron Erickson of Champion.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A service will be held in the spring and will be announced.
