Roys J. Jordan, Jr.
MARQUETTE, MI – Roys James Jordan of Marquette, Michigan, passed away on Friday, November 12th, 2021, at the age of 75. Roys passed away in his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Roys was born in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, on March 25, 1946, to father, Roys Jordan Sr. and mother, Adeline (Knop) Jordan. He graduated from Sault Area High School in 1965. Developing a knack for tinkering, Roys became an avid automobile and motorcycle repairer in his free time, with his friends and father.
His work ethic and desire to learn pushed him to enlist in the United States Army/National Guard in 1965, at age 19. Following service, Roys returned to Michigan where he married Marie LaLonde in 1976. He spent many years working for Superior Sanitation and Great Lakes Fleet. He retired in 2006, after 24 years of working for the Michigan State Department of Corrections.
One of Roys’ biggest accomplishments was being not only a father but a grandfather. He was blessed with a loving family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marie (LaLonde) Jordan; his children, Kim Jordan (Ted) Romero, Kaye Jordan (Dave) Krob, Wendy Jordan (Dean) Ford, Andrea Jordan (Brian) Bouchard, Royce (Kristy) Jordan; and grandchildren, Hannah Romero, Emily Romero, Taylor Burley, Nick Krob, Elizabeth Krob, Bryant Bouchard, and Jordan Bouchard.
Roys was an image of persistence and strength to all those who knew him. He was always there for those in their ups and downs and taught others to enjoy every moment of life. He dealt with all experiences of life carrying on with smiles and laughs and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible.
A visitation for Roys is planned for Friday, November 19th, 2021, from 5 to 7pm, at Canale Tonella Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 526 N. 3rd Street Marquette, Michigan. The Funeral Mass will follow Saturday, November 20th, 2021, at Saint Louis the King Catholic Church, 264 Silver Creek Rd. Marquette, MI, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Glenn Theoret officiating. There will be a luncheon to follow and all are welcomed. Spring burial will take place at the Riverside Cemetery, in Sault Ste. Marie.
Acting as pallbearers are Bryant Bouchard, Brian Bouchard, Steven LaLonde, Richard Kirby, Tom Brown, and Tommy Brown.
