He was known for being “the life of the party”, telling jokes and being the ultimate “Yooper” (cutting wood, ingenious ways of fixing things and protecting Bernice’s bird feeders from squirrels). Many of his friends will fondly remember his Archie joke and his ability to organize spontaneous parties.

Roy is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Bernice; daughter, Kirsten Kulju Gonzalez (Jorge) of Palm City, Florida; son, Mark (Lori) of Green Bay, Wisconsin; grandsons, Jon, Jake, Matt (Chase), and Ben; sisters, Mavina (John) Etelamaki of Humboldt, Michigan, and Marilyn Brancheau of Republic, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Russell, Rudolph, Raymond, Robert, Roger; sisters, Marion Issacson, Mildred Kulju, Marjorie Prophet and Marlene Kuliju.

Visitation was on Friday, October 15th, 2021, followed by a gathering of family and friends at Townline Banquet Hall.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
