William H. Bennon
DIORITE LOC., MI – William H. Bennon, age 71, of 286 Jasper St, in Diorite Location passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at his home, while in the loving care of his family and the U. P. Home Health and Hospice.
Bill was born in Marquette, on September 24, 1949, a son of the late Shirley E. (Tapio) Sundberg and Kenneth James Bennon. He was a graduate of the Champion High School, Class of 1969. Bill worked as a Union Carpenter for Local #1510 for many years. Some major projects he worked on included constructing the Superior Dome, Bay Cliff, the ELF project. Bill enjoyed cooking, gardening, woodworking, and especially reading.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Vicki L. (McCoy) Bennon of Diorite Location; son – Sean (Tricia) Bennon, of Seattle, WA; daughters – Jolene (Timothy) Beaumont of Rocky Point, NC; Charity (Dan) Mason of Negaunee; Michelle (Wayne) Morrow of Seattle, WA; three brothers – John Bennon, Donnie (Jennifer) Bennon, Gregory (Elizabeth) Sundberg; four sisters – Rosemarie Sundberg, Diane Sundberg, Cheryl Sundberg, Rhoda Bennon; 8 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, along with his pet chihuahua – Ellie.
Per Bill’s wishes cremation will take place and there will be a celebration of his life planned for next summer.
