Kenneth J. Argall

ISHPEMING, MI – Kenneth J. Argall, age 91, lifelong Ishpeming resident, passed away on Monday August 2, 2021, at his home, while in the loving care of his family, and UP Home Health and Hospice.

Ken was born in Ishpeming on October 22, 1929, son of the late James and Emma (Jacobs) Argall. He attended Ishpeming High School graduating with the class of 1947. Following graduation Ken served in the United States Navy until his honorable discharge. Ken worked in the research lab at Cliffs for 42 and a half years where he primarily did metallurgical research.

Ken was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming, where he sang in the church choir, and served on the pasty making crew. He had a love for singing, and was a member of many local groups including Allegro, and the Negaunee Male Chorus. Ken was a member of the Ishpeming Kiwanis Club, and the Negaunee Wood Carving Club. He had a love for the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at camp.

Ken enjoyed bowling, painting, and most recently doing 3 to 4 jigsaw puzzles a week. He loved anything his children and grandchildren were involved in, and was an avid Hematite, and Packer fan.

Ken is survived by his wife of 67 years- Marilyn (Palmer) Argall, 5 children- Joyce (Don) Schinella, David (Ginny) Argall, Gail (Calvin) Koski, Pam (Mark) Olgren, Jeffrey (Angela) Argall, 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, with one on the way, sister-in-law- Kathy West, brother-in-law- David Palmer, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and several close cousins.

Ken’s family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday August 10, 2021, at the Wesley United Methodist Church from 2:00pm until 4:00pm. A celebration of Ken’s life will follow at 4:00pm with Rev. Robert Freysinger officiating. Interment will take place in the Wesley United Methodist Church Memorial Gardens.
