Steven P. “Steve” Nault

GWINN, MI – Steven P. “Steve” Nault, 50, of Gwinn, passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at his home.

He was born in Escanaba on April 5, 1971, the son of Dale and Chris (Cuthbertson) Nault. Steve was raised in Riverland and graduated from Escanaba High School with the Class of 1989. After high school Steve attended DeVry University and graduated in 1991.

Steve was employed at Sayklly’s during high school. After college he worked at Cooper Office Equipment as a service technician and Rhino Linings as a fabricator. Steve was presently employed as a maintenance manager at the Ramada Inn in Marquette.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, dirt biking, four-wheeling, tinkering in his garage, and working on anything with technology. From a very early age he loved taking things apart and always knew how to put them back together. Steve loved his son, Michael very much and built a big room just for him with electric trains and race car tracks. In addition, he built Michael a big swing that he has spent countless hours on.

Steve was always very good in school and everything he did was always done with excellence. As a kid he loved building model cars and not a trace of glue could be found anywhere. He still has them today.

Survivors include his parents; son, Michael P. Nault of Gwinn; paternal grandmother, Marian Sherer of Escanaba; brother, Duane (Sarah) Nault of Gladstone; uncles, Donald (Beverly) Nault of Escanaba and Darwin (Louise) Nault of Gladstone; aunt, Donna (Nault) Milias of Kaukauna; and five nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Bernice H. Roman.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 17th, from 2 to 3 p.m., at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th Street Escanaba, MI 49829. Services will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastors Mary Nault and Renee Grochowski.
