Dennis Theodore Rivord
ST. DENMARK, WI – February 27, 1953 – June 25, 2021. Former Ishpeming resident, Dennis Theodore Rivord, age 68, of 291 N. Wall St. Denmark, WI, passed away peacefully at home, with loved ones under the care of Aurora Hospice, where he went all in and joined up with friends and family at the big table on Friday, June 26, 2021.
Dennis was born February 27, 1953, in Ishpeming, MI, to Lewellyn F. & Myrtle A. (Nelson) Rivord. He graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1971 and continued on to study accounting graduating from Ferris State College, in Big Rapids, MI.
Dennis’s family lived in the Illinois area in his younger years, where he returned to start his career working in Chicago as a Controller for Wright Property Management, Inc. Looking for a larger pot, he moved to Dallas Texas as he continued to work as a construction accountant. When his father became ill, he folded his hand in Texas and moved to help with the family rental business Rivord Rentals. Later Dennis went into commercial painting in the Tennessee and WI area.
Dennis life was always full and exciting. He was either counting money, painting, fishing, playing pool, playing Texas Hold Em or doing the hustle.
Dennis is survived by his two daughters: Shiloh (Marty) Beene, of Humboldt, Tennessee and Denci Thomas (Todd Wulf) of Seattle, WA, 3 sisters: Linda (Greg) DeGabriele of Ishpeming Township, Barbara (Arthur) Dery of Deming, NM, Mary K. Holkko of Ishpeming Township, 2 brothers: Robert (Marsha) Rivord of Ishpeming Township, and John (Suzy) Rivord of Ishpeming Township, 4 grandchildren: Taylor Thomas of Marquette, Tiffany Thomas of Seattle, WA, Tyler Thomas of Marquette and Ryan Beene of Humboldt, Tennessee, numerous nieces and nephews and a lifelong friend, Mary Thibodeau, of Marquette, MI. XO.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Lewellyn F. Rivord, in 2008 and his mother, Myrtle A. (Nelson) Rivord, in 2014.
Following Dennis’s request a private interment will be held at the Ishpeming Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
