Delwood Bartle

Del was born February 16, 1953, in Ishpeming, to Cecil and Minnie (Golder) Bartle and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1971. Following high school, he began his employment with Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company at the Pioneer Pellet Plant. He then worked at the Republic and Tilden Mines before retiring from the Empire Mine with over 30 years of service with the company.

Del was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed trapping, hunting and fishing, and he was a member of the U.P. Trappers Association. He loved spending time at camp, being with his family, traveling and trips to Las Vegas.

Surviving are his loving wife of 27 years, Marsha (Elmes) Bartle; his daughter, Tanya (Tony) Pihaylic of Romeo; two sons: Brian (Angela) Bartle of Darien, IL and Eric (Amber) Bartle of Ishpeming; six grandchildren: Ethan Pihaylic, Brandon and Mia Bartle, and Josh, Erica and Monica Bartle; his sister, Julaine Ombrello of Ishpeming; sister-in-law, Shirley Bartle of Marquette; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: John, Wayne, Keith, Lee and Bruce Bartle; and a sister, Roselyn Bartle.

Honoring Del’s wishes, no public services will be held. Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery. The family kindly asks that any memorial considerations be directed to the U.P. Trappers Association or the Salvation Army.
