Susan M. Johnson
NEGAUNEE, MI – Susan Marie (Goodreau) “Dolly” Johnson, 63, of Negaunee, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, April 17, 2021. She was a kind heart and thrived off the love from those around her. She taught us about humor, loyalty, and putting family first.
Susan was born December 6, 1957, at Bell Hospital to Robert and Aini (Tammelin) Goodreau. She attended St. Paul Elementary and Negaunee High School, graduating Class of 1976 with her eventual husband, Lee. She was a proud Soprano in St. Paul Concert Choir.
She worked at the Villa Capri, the Marquette Catholic Credit Union, and as a Dental Assistant for her father-in-law, before finding her passion as a domestic Goddess. She loved to spend time at Shag Lake, at community outings, and on vacation at Marco Island, FL. She captured each holiday’s spirit, decorating for the seasons, and delivering pork pies and saffron buns to those close to her.
In addition to Lee, Susan leaves behind three sons, Wayne (Kali), Ray (Jill) and Carl Leander (Ashton); two joyous grandchildren, Odin and Wyatt, and a youngest granddaughter arriving in September. She is also survived by two siblings, Ann Dozzi and Trep Goodreau; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and her very best friend, Darlene Korpi.
Dolly is welcomed into heaven by her parents, Aini & Robert; in-laws Mary & Ray; her brother, Bill, and his son, Brandon.
Honoring Susan’s wishes, private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in her name to UPAWS or a charity of your choice.
