Marilyn C. DesArmo

MUNISING, MI – Marilyn C. DesArmo, age 89, of Munising, died unexpectedly Monday, March 29, 2021, at her home.

She was born on Long Island, New York, on July 19, 1931, to the late Charles and Carrie Miller. Marilyn raised her children in New York, before moving to Munising. She loved life, family, talking, naps in the sun, working in her beautiful flower garden, reading novels, going to church, eating a good meal, cheering on the Mets (Rusty Staub was her favorite), and did we mention talking? Marilyn never lost her strong New York accent even after all of these years in the U.P.

We want to thank all of mom’s loyal friends who took such great care and loved our mom: Bill Spencer, Liz Thompson, Marnie Scheffer, Marian Coryell, Glen and Ginny Marshall, the ladies from the Presbyterian Church, and American Legion friends. To all the people who would give her or just her groceries a ride home from the store when she would not let us know she needed anything and the ones who would stop and visit her while she was working out in her yard, these are the things that meant so much to her, and we thank you! We love you Mom and you will be missed but never forgotten.

Marilyn is survived by her children – Cheryl (Francis) Lorenz of Lititz, PA, Alfred Borowski, Jr. of Marquette, Linda Gamelin of Conway, AR, Marilyn (Tom) Rzanca of Munising, and Steve (Tanya) Borowski of Munising; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandkids, with one on the way; and brother – Charlie (Maureen) Miller of Myrtle Beach.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Donald DesArmo, Sr.
