Paul Krejci

MUNISING, MI – Paul Krejci, 60 years of age, Deerton, Michigan, died on February 28th, in his home surrounded by his loving wife, Gail Krejci and dog, Lucky.

Paul is survived by his wife, Gail Krejci; sons, Joshua and Aaron (wife Jennifer); grandchildren, Angelina, Jaden, Gabriel, Zeke, Janae and Jacob; mother, Edith Courtney (Mike), sisters, Julie Wagner and Cheryl Krejci, step-brother, Ed Kaminsky and step-sister, Monica DeFreise. Paul’s extended family included Rebecca McCullough, Brittany Ruckman, RJ and Cassandra Wagner, Lee and Nicki Shaver.

He is preceded in death by son, Jason; his father, John Krejci; his brothers, John and Jerry Krejci; his sister, Peggy White, and stepmother, Leonora Krejci, all from Ohio.

Paul was born on April 9th in 1960, to parents, John Krejci and Edith Courtney. He graduated from Hudson High School (Ohio) and served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Paul worked for Great American Environmental Services- Wood Island Landfill, where he impacted the community for many years as a waste management professional befriending dogs and people all throughout Alger County. Paul served on the Onota Township Planning Commission for ten years and cared deeply for his community.

Paul was a great family man, loving father and husband. He married Gail in 1992 and embraced her boys as his own. Paul loved his dogs, leaving behind Lucky to faithfully watch over his wife and home.

Paul enjoyed gardening, landscaping, building, collecting anything and everything (especially old trucks). His family and friends will always remember him as a loving man willing to help anyone at any time in any way he could. He literally would give the shirt off his back (if he were wearing one). Paul took time to invest in kids, dogs and sometimes even adults to share knowledge and demonstrate a special ability to listen and help problem solve.

In accordance with Paul’s wishes, there will be no funeral at this time. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Lakenenland on June 20th from Noon until 4pm. In lieu of donations to the family, please consider supporting the Alger County Animal Shelter or the Autrain-Onota Public School system.

The family would like to thank Northwoods Hospice (and nurse Laura) for their help in caring for Paul on his final journey. Bowerman Funeral helped to grant one of Paul’s final wishes as he was gracefully removed from his home in a Chevy Suburban Truck.
