MARQUETTE, MI – Helen Margaret Lack, age 98, of Marquette, entered eternal life Sunday evening, March 7, 2021, at the home of her daughter, Cindy Lack.

Born October 12, 1922, in Limestone, a daughter of John and Antonia (Laurich) Knaus, Helen was raised in Traunik and was a 1940 graduate of the Rock River Township School in Eben. She then attended the Cleary Business College in Ypsilanti for a year. On September 28, 1947, she married Edward T. Lack and together the couple made their home and raised their daughter in Williamston. Helen was employed for many years as a school secretary with the East Lansing Public Schools. Her husband, Edward, preceded her in death in 1975, and in 2002 Helen moved to Marquette.

Survivors include her daughter, Dr. Cynthia “Cindy” Lack of Marquette; her granddaughter, Ana M. (Clint Marcotte) Sicotte of Marquette; three great- grandchildren, Lilly and Landon Sicotte, and Link Marcotte; many nieces and nephews; and many beloved friends.

In addition to her parents, husband, and an infant daughter, Tina Marie, Helen was preceded in death by sisters, Mary, Antonia, Christine, Angela, Olga, Frances, and Amy; and brothers, John and Ludwig.

Services have been rescheduled to the following:

Friends may call at the Bishop’s Room located at St. Peter Cathedral on Saturday, March 13, beginning at 12:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Cathedral at 1:30 pm, with Rev. Jernej Sustar as celebrant. Masks and social distancing are required. Interment will be made in St. Joseph Cemetery in Lansing.
