ISHPEMING, MI – Paul Turino, age 95, longtime Ishpeming resident passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021, at Teal Lake Senior Living Community, while in the loving care of his family and UP-Home Health and Hospice.

Paul was born in Marquette, Michigan, on July 5, 1925, a son of the late Walter and Caroline (Dower) Turino. He graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1943, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Radioman Second Class.

Paul was self-employed owning and operating Turino’s Service Station on Pine Street in Ishpeming from 1948-1981.

Paul was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knight of Columbus, a life member of Ishpeming VFW, and the Ishpeming Beagle Club. Paul was a volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul and the Blue Notes Parents Club. He enjoyed spending time at camp on the Dead River Basin with his family and raising his beagles.

Paul is survived by a son Steve (Marjorie) Turino of Minnetonka, MN three daughters, Mary (Doug) Stone, of Negaunee, Francine Bertucci, of Ishpeming, and Rosanne Turino, of Ishpeming, 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 4 great- great- grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, daughter-in- law, Ann Turino, sister-in-law, Janet Genord, and brother-in-law, August Baggiore.

Paul was preceded in death by his Parents: Walter and Caroline Turino, Wife: Shirley, Son: Michael, 3 sisters: Mary Parlato, Dorothy Gustafson, Pat Raven, 3 brothers: Robert Turino, Beryl Turino, and William Williams, sons-in-law: Stephen Bertucci, and Larry Grigg.

Honoring Paul’s wishes a private family service will be held. Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.
