Hayden J. “Rex” Dunn
ISHPEMING, MI – Hayden J. “Rex” Dunn, age 74, lifelong Ishpeming resident, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at UP Health System Marquette while in the loving care of his family, and hospital staff.
Rex was born in Munising, MI on April 29, 1946, son of the late Hayden Dunn Sr. and Betty (Morris) Dunn. He attended Ishpeming High School graduating with the class of 1965. Following graduation he attended Northern Michigan University where he received several certificates in technical school. Rex worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for many years.
Rex enjoyed building and flying remote controlled airplanes. He loved hunting, fishing, especially on his boat in Lake Superior, working on cars, and going camping with Kaye in their younger years.
Rex is survived by his wife- Kaye (Harris) Dunn, brother-in-law and sister-in-law- Richard and Carol Harris, 2 nephews- Douglas Lyyski, Jerry (Angela) Harris, along with several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister- Irene, nieces- Lisa, Leslie, and Diane Harris, father-in-law and mother-in-law- Ted and Liz Harris, and brother-in-law- Tom Harris.
A private family burial service will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
