Robert A. (Bob) Eliason

ISHPEMING, MI – Robert A. (Bob) Eliason, age 84, longtime resident of 195 Copper St., West Ishpeming, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility where he had been a resident for the past nine months.

Bob was born in Ishpeming, on June 8, 1936, son of the late Selma (Kulju) and William Eliason. He attended Ishpeming High School and graduated with the class of 1955. He worked for CCI at the Republic and Empire Mines, retiring as a Shift Manager in 1993. Bob was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.

He was an active member of the Riverside Club for many years and participated in the Ishpeming Horseshoe League. As an avid runner for many years, he completed numerous marathons. He was also a big fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers.

Bob will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His mild mannered easy going personality will always be in our hearts.

Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years Marlene of Ishpeming; daughters, Lynn (Scot) Luke of Iron Mountain, and Debbie Campbell of Ishpeming; son, Craig Eliason of Minneapolis, MN; 4 grandchildren – Ryan (Andrea Starnes) Thorne, Derek (Jessica) Luke, Casey (Kyle) Kuenn, Corey (Mandi Shellenbarger) Luke , 3 great- grandchildren – Benjamin Thorne, Mara Luke and Eva Luke, a sister, Anita (Bernie) Mattila of Ishpeming; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Melvin (Betty) and William Jr. (Ange) Eliason, sister, Elaine (Lowell) Smith, and son-law, Dan Campbell.

Due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic a memorial celebration of his life will be held at a later date with a private interment taking place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to the Bethel Lutheran Church – Memorial Fund, 333 E. Ridge St., Ishpeming, MI 49849 in memory of Bob.
