GWINN, MI – Miloh “Mike” Crawford, 66, of Gwinn, passed away Wednesday evening, November 25, 2020, at U.P. Health System-Marquette, from an apparent heart attack.

Mike was born on January 1, 1954, in Coldwater, Michigan, a son of the late Bob and Gertrude (Hacker) Crawford. He was a 1975 graduate of Marquette Senior High School.

Mike proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in Germany. Following his return to the area, he was formerly employed by Libick’s Glass Shop and later joined Marquette General Hospital as a boiler operator in the maintenance department. He retired from MGH in 2010. Not retired for even a week, Mike was then hired as a lock smith for Housing and Residence Life at NMU for four years. He also owned and operated the Lock Doctor for many years.

In his free time, Mike was an avid sportsman who enjoyed a good deer hunt. He was very active with the West Branch Sportsman’s Club and was a member of the U.P. Predator Challenge. When his sons were younger, he was quite active with Boy Scouts Troop 361. He was a member of Flat Rock American Legion Post # 337.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, the former Janice Cole, whom he married on February 9, 1978, in White Pine, Michigan; two sons, Robert Crawford of Gwinn and Thomas Crawford of Gwinn; five siblings, Robin Hachey and Mona Pompo, both of Cedar Rapids, IA, Laurie Crawford of Arizona, Jim (Cyndee) Gochanour of Coldwater, MI, and Jackie (Allen) Turner of South Beloit, IL; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bob (Tina) Crawford and mother, Gert (Al) Gochanour.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3rd at the Canale Gwinn Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon with a sharing of memories memorial service to be conducted in the funeral home at 12 Noon. Graveside services with military honors will take place in the Gwinn Cemetery. During visitation and service at the funeral home, masks are required and total numbers of attendees are limited to 25 people at a time.
