Michael E. Coughlin

GREEN BAY, WI – Michael E. Coughlin, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2020, at home with family after a lengthy illness.

Mike was born on December 17, 1946, to Edward Coughlin in Ishpeming, Michigan. He graduated from Ishpeming High School and Northern Michigan University. Mike met the love of his life, Barbara Olds, and were married for almost 52 wonderful years. He was a teacher and football coach at Ishpeming High School. He then taught and coached at Westwood High School where he was instrumental in starting the Westwood Patriots football program. Mike and Barb moved to Green Bay in 1987 and he retired after many years with Van Boxtel Ford.

Mike was a devoted father of his two boys Dave and Jeff. Undeniably, his greatest joy was spending time with Barb and his family. They have many special memories including the time spent at their cottage on Crooked Lake, traveling, bird hunting and watching all his grandkid’s sporting events. Mike loved cars and especially watching Nascar and his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt, also taking his sons to the Richard Petty Driving School. Mike also loved his very special Abby and Riley, his Brittany Spaniels.

Mike has left behind and will be sorely missed by his loving wife; Barb, his two sons; David (Cheryl) Coughlin, Washington, IL, Jeffrey (Stacey) Coughlin, Howard, WI, his six grandchildren; Tyler and Brett Coughlin, Logan (Jake) Heinzen, Peyton, Camden, and Rhyan Coughlin, his sister; Fran (Don) Lesco, Anchorage, Alaska and several nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his father; Edward Coughlin, his father and mother-in-law; Bob and Theresa Olds.

Mike was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Green Bay, where a private service will be held due to the current pandemic guidelines. The family would like to thank Unity Hospice for their care and a special care giver; Margarita.
