LeRoy C. Process
MARQUETTE, MI – LeRoy Carlon Process, age 87, of Marquette, entered eternal life Monday, November 9, 2020, at Brookridge Heights Assisted Living Facility.
Born November 21, 1932, in Sagola, a son of Walter and Ruth (Swanson) Process, Roy was raised in Sagola and graduated from the Channing High School in 1950. He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad for a time before entering the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict, serving from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1956. He enrolled at Northern Michigan University, receiving his Bachelors Degree in Education. On September 3, 1960, Roy married the former Julee Ann Weston and together the couple resided with Julee’s parents for the first year of their marriage. Their first real home was in Sault Ste Marie where Roy did his student teaching. Their family later moved to Marquette in 1963, with Roy accepting a teaching position in the Negaunee Public Schools as an industrial arts teacher at the Negaunee High School. He taught in Negaunee for over 28 years, retiring in 1988. While his children were growing up, Roy devoted much of his time to Boy Scouting as a troop leader and scout master. In retirement, he enjoyed going to camp, deer hunting, and coffee clutching with friends. A tinkerer, Roy also enjoyed tinkering with all his tools and helped build the log cabin at hunting camp.
Survivors include a son, Bradley (Tracy) Process of Kalamazoo; daughter-in-law, Martha Process of Marquette; his grandchildren, Brian Donovan (fiance, Carissa McDonald), Christopher Scott, and Eleanor Elizabeth Process; number 3 son, Rob McLaughlin of Harvey; his sisters, Marlys (Rudy) Hoffman of Channing, and Gail (Don) Hamby of Randville; brother, Terry (Mary) Process of Norway; brother-in-law, Bruce Lefebvre of Wind Lake, WI; sisters-in-law, Sherry Process of Sagola and Rae Process of Channing, and longtime friend and companion, Helen Steinhoff of Marquette; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Julee Ann; a son, Brian Process; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Shirley Process; sister, Clarice Lefebvre and brothers, Ron and Fritz Process.
Private interment will be made at the Park Cemetery.
