David Lillard

MARQUETTE, MI – David Lillard, 72, passed away quietly on November 15, 2020.

He was born and raised in the Detroit area and worked as a computer programmer at a time most people didn’t know what computers were. He moved to the Marquette area in 1998. Over the years he owned a number of comic book/collectible stores and had the second direct-market comic book store in the early 1970’s and also the world’s first Star Trek convention. David also cared for his aging parents before their deaths in 2003. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle and friend.

His survivors include his brother, Jeff Lillard of Wyandotte, MI; his sister, Darlene (Jim) Inch of Negaunee; and sister, Ann Marie Sivic. Other survivors include his nephews, Jim (Amy) Lillard of Wyoming, MI; Tim (Ann) Lillard of Milford; Jason Bennett of Marquette; and John (Lisa) Inch of Marquette; in addition, a niece, Kimberly Sivic of Southfield. He also leaves behind many great-nephews and great-nieces, along with his dear friends, Bob Helmes and Mike Lester.
