Frances A. ‘Fran’ Lahtinen

Frances was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on August 26, 1953, a daughter of the late Herbert and Angela (Nardi) Dye. She was a graduate of Ishpeming High School.

Fran’s greatest joy in life was being a grandma and was especially proud to tell everyone of her great-grandsons: Alec and Ryder. Not only was she the greatest grandma to her own but she was known as everyone’s grandmother.

Fran was known as a person who put everyone’s needs before her own, no questions asked.

Frances enjoyed shopping, trips to the casino, sunbathing in the sun and was an avid Packer fan. Her favorite down time was spending time with her cats: Ernie, Eli, Emma, and Oliver.

Fran worked for over 25 years at Menards as a Sales Associate in the Hardware Department. Fran loved her job and considered all her co-workers a second family.

Fran is survived by a granddaughter: Ashley (Matt) Cody and their children: Alec and Ryder Cody of Ishpeming, a sister: Sue Craven of Indianapolis, IN, a step-son: Jim (Ellen) Lahtinen Jr. of Kennesaw, GA, a grandson: Patrick Lahtinen and nephews: Herb and Joe Craven.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents: Herbert and Angela Dye, husband: Jim Lahtinen, a daughter: Melissa Heribacka and granddaughter: Shea Heribacka.

Due to current restrictions concerning COVID-19 a private service will be held at a later date.

The family encourages those that knew Fran to send their thoughts, memories, or a story of Fran to them since they can’t meet you in person.
