MARQUETTE, MI – Meredith Suliot Livingston, 81 of Marquette, Michigan, formerly of O’Neill, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday morning, September 23, 2020, at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette, Michigan.

Meredith was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, on April 29, 1939, to the late Meredith P. and Charlotte (Suliot) Livingston. His family moved to Salem, Ohio in 1943 where Meredith graduated from Salem High School in the class of 1957. He loved his years in the Boy Scouts. He played French horn in the high school band and took flying lessons at a field near Salem and earned his pilot license.

Meredith achieved a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering, two Master’s degrees and a PhD.

Meredith joined the Air Force after attending two years at Ohio University in ROTC. He served from 1960 to 1980 and retired as a captain. After retirement Meredith worked for companies that worked closely with the military. His last assignment was Middle East regional manager, Beni Suef AB, Egypt from 2001-2007.

Meredith received many awards during his career. He was beloved by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Darlyne Livingston of Peshtigo, WI; a daughter, Julia Ann McDonald of Oak Grove, MO; two sisters, Ann L. Recktenwald of San Jose, CA and Culley L. Coughlin of Cleveland, OH; four step-children, Terry Shelden of Spencer, NE, Monica Bittner of Peshtigo, WI, Jeff (Peg) Richardson of Escanaba, MI and Randy Richardson of Negaunee, MI; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death besides his parents was a son, James D. Livingston; two brothers-in-law, Neil Coughlin and Carl Recktenwald; a son-in-law, Wayne Shelden and grandson, Jeremy Shelden.

A graveside service with military honors will be accorded at the Union Cemetery in Spencer, Nebraska at a later date.
