Lloyd “Bucky” A. Peterson Jr.
YUMA, AZ – Lloyd “Bucky” A. Peterson Jr. of Yuma AZ. (Formerly of Gwinn & Rock, Mi.). Passed away in his sleep, on September 1, 2020, after batting illness for the last several months.
Lloyd was born the son of Lloyd and Ida Peterson on November 11, 1945, in Marquette, Michigan. Lloyd entered the US Army and served in Vietnam. He returned to the U.P. and did a short stint with the US Air Force at KI Sawyer plowing snow. He then took a position with the Marquette County Road Commission where he spent over 20 years plowing, grading, and serving as foreman of the Gwinn garage.
Some of Lloyd’s favorite things to do back in the day were deer hunting, cutting wood, and plowing snow. Most recently was his love of Nascar and #4 Kevin Harvick along with the Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals.
Lloyd is survived by his wife; Estella Channing of Yuma, AZ., son; Chris Peterson (Jodi) of Curtis, Mi., daughter; Danielle Peterson of Kenosha, Wi., grandchildren; Bryce Ranta, of Menominee, Mi., Victoria Whitmore, Big Rapids, Mi., and Nathaniel Whitmore, Houghton, Mi., sisters; Carol (Jack) Coyne of Gwinn, Mi., Judy (Bob) Johnston of McFarland, Mi. and Kelly (Tim) Devooght of Skandia. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Per Bucky’s wishes there will be no memorial services.
