Daren James Hillier

Born March 9, 1994, in Marquette, the son of Kurt and Shelby (St. Onge) Hillier, Daren was raised in Marquette and graduated from Marquette Senior High School, Class of 2013. Throughout his life, he faced his many challenges, met them head on, and was a fighter to the very end.

Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his family, going to the fire hall with his dad, and fishing on East Bass Lake. He enjoyed anything hockey and was an avid fan and enthusiastic supporter of whomever was playing.

Daren possessed the best smile and laugh that made you instantly fall in love with him. His expressive, beautiful blue eyes conveyed his feelings better than speech ever could. To so many, he was a true inspiration of courage, determination, and inner strength. He was both a blessing and joy to be around.

Daren is survived by his parents; little sister, Carleigh Hillier of Marquette; paternal grandparents, Daniel and Joan Hillier and maternal grandparents, David and Debby St. Onge and great grandparents, Carl & Lois St.Onge all of Marquette; aunts and uncles, Chuck and Kellie Genschaw, David and Kristie Johnson, Stephanie Carlson, Mark and Stacy Cowan, Christopher and Shannon Jackson all of Marquette; cousins, Tammi, Chase, Cole, Tyler, Ryan, Caitlyn, Brooke, Ryleigh, and Allie; a wonderful extended family and many special friends.

Daren was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Raymond and Evelyn Hillier and Thomas and Marie Swenor; and maternal great-grandparents James and Dorothy Eady.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions the family will hold a private service. A huge celebration of Daren’s life will be held at a later date.
