MENOMINEE, MI – Katherine “Kitty” Beyer, 98, of Menominee, Mich. passed away on July 24, 2020, at Aurora Medical Center Marinette, Wis.

She was born December 7, 1921, in Pinewoods, to the late John and Josephine (Frank) Moker, Kitty was the 8th of 10 children. Kitty grew up in Pinewoods and graduated the 8th grade from the Pinewoods school. She started working in town at the age of almost 16, holding jobs at St. Joseph Lloyd Hospital, Lloyd Furniture, and the Glove Factory.

Kitty married Alvin Beyer on October 25, 1947. Settling down north of Menominee to raise their family. Kitty was an excellent cook and homemaker, she was especially known for her pickled whiting and chocolate cakes.

After her family was raised Kitty went back to school, earned her GED, got her driver’s license and returned to the work force part time. In their senior years their love to travel took Al and Kitty through the U.S. touching all 50 States, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Austria, France and Switzerland. Over the years Al and Kitty called many places home including Menominee, Marquette, Arizona, Hawaii, Zephyrs Hills, FL and finally returning to Menominee to be nearer to family.

Kitty is survived by her children; Wayne (Carol) Beyer of Menominee/ Mulberry, FL., Tom (Lori) Beyer of Cedar Rapids, IA, Linda (Stephen) Dupras of Marquette, Mich., Kathy (Tom) Welch of Kapolei, Hawaii and Pat (Robin) Beyer of Marquette, Mich. 9 grandchildren, 6 great- grandchildren, 5 great- great- grandchildren and 1 great- great- great- grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Kitty is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Alvin, siblings; Steve (Jenny) Moker, Mary (Leo) Spitzer, Anna (Emil) Beihl, Charlie (Victoria) Moker, Helen (Hubert) Labs, Josephine “Fina” (Clarence) Massey, Elizabeth “Betty” (Bernard) Grandaw, Marjorie “Margie” (Dash) Lutri, John “Jonny” (Lorraine) Moker and granddaughter Tonya Beyer.

Visitation for Kitty will be on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Cadieu Funeral Home beginning at 4 p.m. until the time of the Prayer Service at 6 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Resurrection Parish in Menominee, Mich. with Fr. Brian Gerber officiating

Burial will be in Birch Creek Cemetery.
