MARQUETTE, MI – Cheryl Noel Gerry, age 20, passed away July 18, 2020, with her parents and the nursing staff of Marquette County Medical Care Facility by her side.

Born April 1, 2000 to Joseph and Jennifer (Noel) Gerry, she was a fighter from the moment she took her first breath until she took her last. Born with Severe Cerebral Palsy, she was denied the chance to live a “normal” life, but her parents and family made it as normal as possible. From the many trips to Disney World to seeing her favorite Mouse, professional baseball games, zoos. Museums, trips to visit family and friends and countless football, baseball, and basketball games her brothers participated in she loved it all. She loved Mickey Mouse and anything Disney. She loved listening to Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. She had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh that you could not help but to laugh right along with her.

Cheryl is survived by her parents, her brothers; Anthony and Evan Gerry of Marquette, grandparents; Edward and Janice Noel of Marquette, grandmother; Sandra Gerry of Marquette, uncle; Dan and aunt; Shelley Noel of Marquette, aunt; Beth and uncle; Todd Swanson of Marquette, aunt; Lynn and uncle; Steve Gosian along with favorite cousins; Megan and Derek Gosian all of Maple Grove, MN, aunt Wilma and uncle Dave Schoh of Caledonia, MN along with many other uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her grandfather; Joseph Gerry, Sr.

Cheryl’s family would like to thank those that helped care for her throughout the years. From Dr. Julia Frei to her primary care Doctors, Dr. Joseph Brzezinski, Dr. Francis Darr, Dr. Mary Tobin Anderson and nurse Amy Michaels. They would especially like to thank Dana Roe and the staff of Lake Superior Hospice, all the nurses and staff at MCMCF who cared for and loved her for the last three months, especially nurse Shannon. Along with all the caregivers that helped them at home, especially Cat Yutzy.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral and Cremation Services on Saturday, August 1, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Family services will be private.

Masks and social distancing are required and no reception will be held.
