Rev. Douglas Pohlman

MARQUETTE, MI – On June 19, 2020, Rev. Douglas Keith Pohlman entered into eternal life surrounded with his loving family by his side.

Born April 24, 1934, to Bernice and Carl Pohlman, he grew up in Ishpeming, Michigan where he enjoyed and excelled at many sports, especially football and track. Shortly after graduating he served in the Army and later went on to Gustavus Adolphus to pursue his passion of the ministry. It was there that he met and married the love of his life Susan Peterson.

Upon graduating, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a minister and eventually moved back to his home state of Michigan. Douglas enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, as he loved all people. He also cherished nature and animals, especially his cats Patches and Pebbles. He had a tremendous loving heart, and saw the best in every situation, and found humor even in the most troubling of times.

He is survived by his wife Sue, his daughter; Pam and husband; Sri Emani, his daughter; Laura and husband; Mark Ewart, his son; Scott and wife; Helen Pohlman and his son; Dan and wife; Pamela Pohlman, along with 9 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all.
