James Doyle Richards
GWINN, MI – James Doyle Richards, 60, of Gwinn, passed away Wednesday evening, January 8, 2020, at his residence with his loving family at his side and under the care of U.P. Home Health and Hospice.
Doyle was born on June 30, 1959, in Rockwood, Tennessee to James and Carolyn (West) Richards. He was a 1977 graduate of Gwinn High School and retired from Alcatel Lucent as a test engineer.
Doyle loved his family. He especially enjoyed working in his yard and gardening. He was a member of both the Sons of the American Legion in Little Lake and the VFW Auxiliary in Gwinn.
Survivors include his wife, the former, Julie Delmont Richards; two sons, Joshua Richards and Jared Richards and his fiance, Nicole Bliven; his father, James (Barbara) Richards; one sister, Pam (Ken) Sorensen and a brother, Jon McCoy; father and mother-in-law, Wilfred and Ruth Delmont; sister-in-law, Jill Porter and brother-in-law, Scott Delmont.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Richards; step-father, Jack McCoy; a sister, Laura Richards and brother-in-law, Mark Porter.
A memorial gathering will take place this summer in the Gwinn area.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to U.P. Home Health and Hospice, 1125 W. Ridge St., Marquette, MI 49855 in Doyle’s memory.
