Donald W. “Don” Krieg

Don was born March 24, 1944, in Hastings, Michigan, a son of Harold and Wilma (Bashore) Krieg. He graduated from Jackson High School, Class of 1962, and afterward enlisted in the US Navy, serving during Vietnam. After receiving his honorable discharge, Don was employed with General Motors for 30 years as an industrial electrician. Following retirement, he and wife, Mary Ellen, relocated to Big Bay where Don built their beautiful retirement home. An active member of the Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years, Don was a member of the Order of the Arrow. In his leisure, Don was an avid fisherman and loved fly tying.

Don is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Craig) Krieg, whom he married in 1967; his son, Scott (Melanie Skinner) Krieg of Gobles, MI and his daughter, Wendy Krieg of Minneapolis, MN; one grandchild, Benjamin Krieg of Gobles, MI; two sisters, Shirley (Edwin) Krieg of Flat Rock, AL and Joyce Kline of Indianapolis, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at the Community Presbyterian Church in Big Bay on Saturday, January 25, beginning at 11:00 am until the time of service at 11:30 am. Pastor Sudi Layraman will officiate. A reception will follow.
